The remains of Mrs. Margaret Taylor, wife of the late Col. E. D. Taylor, who died at Mendota, Ill., last Thursday, arrived in Springfield yesterday, and will be interred in Oak Ridge cemetery this afternoon. Mrs. Taylor was born in Crab Orchard, Ky., in 1812 and removed to Illinois in its early days, and in 1829 married Col. E. D. Taylor.
She leaves to mourn her loss several sisters, Mrs. E. R. Hurst, Mrs. S. M. Tinsley and Mrs. David Kreigh; four children, Charles Taylor, Mrs. Ed. F. Rogers, of Chicago; Wm. W. Taylor, of Ottawa, and Mrs. Hannah Beebe, of Mendota.

A bio of Margaret in the History of the Early Settlers of Sangamon County (1876) lists her birth year as 1813. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Burkhead Taylor. She and her husband Edmund had 13 children.
