GERALD E MOORE of Melbourne, FL - he was the son of Emerson
V and Irene Tuhey Moore. He was a long-time resident of Cincinnati's Anderson Township before moving to Florida to be closer to family. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ostendorf Moore, daughter, Sheila and sister, Julie Simon, surviving are children, Brian V. Moore (Julie) of Phoenix AZ, Thomas (Angie) of North Palm Beach FL, Valerie A. Moore of Boynton, Beach, FL and grandchildren, Brian Jr. (Megan), Kevin (Jess), Katie, Lauren, Eric and David; (recently received word from Kevin and Jess that he was going to be a great-grandfather); and brother, John T. Moore (Janice) formerly of Melbourne now Dayton, OH. Jerry attended the University of Dayton before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force where he served as a public information specialist. During this time, he wrote for and edited base publications and wrote the graduation speech for the first NCO academy in the Air Force. In 1954, he was selected to attend a course in international relations at Cambridge University in England. Following discharge, he spent more than thirty years in advertising, retiring as the advertising director of Western-Southern Life in Cincinnati, OH. He was the author of two books, "Making an Idea Succeed" and "I Escaped from RAF Upper Heyford". A prodigious reader, throughout his life he maintained an extensive collection of books and classical music. Services will be held on December 19, 2022 at the cemetery.
