Clarence "Zeke" Ransom, 79, passed away on December 20, 2022 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Branchville on August 4, 1943 to John Leslie "Les" and Margaret (Sernau) Ransom.

Zeke was a 1961 graduate of Oil Township High School. He owned and operated Ransom Excavation for 54 years, for which he truly loved doing, retiring in 2018. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 181and former member of the Cannelton Jaycees. Zeke enjoyed restoring antique tractors, trail riding and going to country music shows.

Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Motteler (Carl), Punta Gorda, FL, Lori Fredrickson (Kevin), Grace, ID and Leslie Holcomb (Bayne), Cannelton; grandchildren, Morgan Bube (Mason), C.J. Ransom (Katie), Rikki LeDune (Josh) and Zach Ziegelgruber (Ravyn), A.J. Kempf and Cory Brownlee and eight great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Linda Ransom; sisters, Linda Freeman, Loretta Oxley and Juanita Rhodes and a brother, John Ransom, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM CST on Thursday, December 22, 2022.. Frank Maffia will officiate. Burial will follow in Lamb Cemetery, Tobinsport. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Thursday 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
