Roger William Gusick of Coleman, WI, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus in the presence of his family on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. He was 77. He was born October 11, 1945, the son of William and Martha Gusick.

A longtime resident of the Pound and Coleman area, he worked for the Department of Natural Resources before his marriage, and then at Patz Corporation for over 40 years in various financial positions.
He served on the founding board for Faith Christian School in Coleman, WI, as Christian education remained a lifelong passion for him.
He also served on the founding board of Northland Missions Camp, and acted as a camp director and counselor. Roger served on the founding board of Northland Baptist Bible College.
Additionally, he served on the Town of Pound board. As a lifetime member of First Baptist Church, he was a favorite teacher of junior boys in Sunday School highlighting the Old Testament patriarchs. As a pillar of the church, Roger was a devout deacon throughout his church life. He was known for the endearing habit of always carrying wintergreen mints in his blazer pocket to share with all the children in church. He also listened to children recite Bible verses on Wednesday evenings.

Roger was known as a kind man who loved the classic Wisconsin hobbies of hunting and fishing. He was particularly proud of his Boone and Crockett whitetail trophy.

Roger and his wife Eleanore enjoyed many October elk hunting trips in the Colorado Rockies with his in-laws Harold and La Verne (Patz) Grosse.

It was always Roger's dream to live in the country on a farm, so he and Eleanore made that dream a reality when they built a farmhouse and lived for over 40 years on County Q in Pound.
He and Eleanore recently moved to a charming house on Maple Lane in Coleman, as Eleanore loves maple trees.

On December 11, Roger and his sweetheart Eleanore (nee Patz) Gusick just celebrated 57 loving years of marriage.

Roger is survived by his four children, their spouses, and his grandchildren:
* Dawn (Sotiri) Catemis (in Roselle, IL) and Alexis Pellegrino, Nicholas (Alicia) Pellegrino

*Phillip (Kristy) Gusick (in Stillwater, MN) and Kasey and Carolyn

*Peter (Kimberly) Gusick (in Pound, WI) Preston and fiancé Olivia, Morgan, Tirzah, Taylor, and Sierra

*Ben (Brikena) Gusick (in Phoenix, AZ) and baby Alexander

as well as his living sister-in-law Alyce (Mrs Marvin).

Roger's ten grandchildren called him "Grandpa Goose," and they are missing him already.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Martha Gusick
and his older brothers Ken and Marvin Gusick.

Visitation for Roger will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at First Baptist Church 3014 County Rd. CP, Pound, WI, from 10:00 A.M and to end at 1:45 P.M. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. at the church with Pastor Steve Huecker officiating. A private cemetery interment follows at First Baptist Cemetery in Pound, WI.
