Obituary from -The Fayetteville Observer, Thursday, May 9 1919

The Fayetteville Observer, Thursday, May 8, 1919: J. W. Counts was born May 29, 1838, died April 20, 1919, and his wife, Nancy B. Styles was born June 16, 1838, and died April 20, 1919. They died at their home at Lois. They were married April 21, 1856, and were the parents of 13 children, 6 of whom survive them as follows--J. H., G(eorge) W., and F. M(arion) Counts and Mrs. Nathan Ashby, Mrs. Alice Patton and Mrs. Joe F. Spencer of Huntsville. They have 31 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. The neighbors declare there were never better and more devout people in that neighborhood and they will be sadly missed. They had been members of the christian church--Liberty Hill--for 38 years and their chidren are all members of the same church. They had lived 53 years in the house in which they died and had been married 63 years on the day on which Mrs. Counts died. There were 17 days difference in their ages and 10 days difference in their deaths. Both were ready and waiting when the summons came and were laid to rest in the Ashby graveyard. Both services were conducted by Eld. A. H. Rozar.
