Rites held for Nancy Wakefield

Nancy Minerva Jane Wakefield, daughter of Alsmus Baloe
and Mary (Heath) Allen, was born at Clubb, MO. on September
29, 1881 and died in Parma, MO. May 12, 1964 at the age
of 82 years, 7 months and 13 days.

On September 2, 1897 she was united in marriage to
James Pinkney Wakefield and to this union 11 children
were born.

She leaves to mourn her departure two sons, Ira Wakefield
of Silva, Chester Wakefield of Cahokia, Ill., seven
daughters, Grace Westmoreland of Patterson, Pearl DeSpain
of Marquand, Virgie Allen of Piedmont, Iris Bollinger
of Silva, Junita Joy of Eureka Kansas, Loah Twidwell and
Velda Schlater both of Cahokia, Ill. She leaves two
sisters, Lieuella Zigler of Parma and Emma Bell of Harvey
Ill.

She also leaves 36 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren,
and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, one son Winfred,
one daughter Gloia Wakefield, three brothers, Edward,
Allison and Reuben Allen.

In 1898 Mrs. Wakefield professed her faith Christ and
united with the New Prospect Baptist Church.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all thosew
who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services was held at the New Prospect Church
with the Rev. L.A. Davis and the Rev. Orla Parker officiating. Music was by Mrs. Dollie Twidwell and son
Glendell, accompanied by Marjorie Bowles, pianist.
Interment was in the New Prospect Cemetery, grandsons
serving as pallbearers. Gish service.
