Rev. Reta M. Bates 75, of Livermore, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Reta Marie Erbst was born January 6, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa to the late Frederick Earl and Alice Marie Martin Erbst. Reta was a retired substitute teacher, a United Methodist Minister, and member of Island United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Alan Bates and wife, Sue of Island; a granddaughter, Kimberly Bates of Island; two brothers, Gilbert W. Erbst of Bellevue, Nebraska and Andrew "Bill" Erbst, Sr. of Calamus, Iowa; a sister, Elaine E. Robbins of Council Bluffs, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Island United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Graham officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday at the church. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Reta's family.
