Effie Candis Ballou
Tennessee
April 21, 1913 - February 6, 2005
Effie Candis (Peggy Dolinger) Ballou died February 6.
She was born April 21, 1913 to Benjamin and Emma Dolinger, Nella, N.C., the second of nine children.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orin (O.B.) Ballou of Washington D.C.; her parents, Benjamin and Emma Dolinger of Lansing; two brothers, Lloyd Dolinger, of Oxon Hills, Md. and Wade Dolinger, of Jefferson; three sisters, Ruby Weaver, of Marmet, W. Va., Pearl Tatum, of Washington D.C, and Alva Neitzey of Alexandria, Va.
She is survived by three brothers, Ancel Dolinger and wife, Dessie of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Kenneth Dolinger and wife, Shirley of Gaithersburg, Md., and Charles Dolinger and wife, Daniford of Benita Springs, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Polly Dolinger of Pasadona, Tx.; 18 nieces and nephews. Even though she did not have any children of her own, she dearly loved all of her nieces and nephews.
She moved from Washington, DC to Lansing about 35 years ago to take care of her parents, Ben and Emma. Before moving to an assisted living home in Murfreesboro, Tenn., in the summer of 2001, she was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Lansing. After her parents passed away, she kept the old home place open for her "families" to visit. Since moving to the assisted living home, she has been under the constant, loving care of her niece, Kay Mobley, and her husband Tom.
Peggy was buried in the Perry Cemetery, above Helton, after her services.
The Pallbearers were Thomas Dolinger, Bobby Dolinger, Gary Dolinger, Scott Dolinger, Ben Mobley, and Tim Mobley.
