Armstrong, William Clinton, compl. THE AXFORDS OF OXFORD, NEW JERSEY: A Genealogy beginning in 1725, Washington, NJ: Genealogical Researchers, reprinted 1984, p, 49.

"IV. Mercy Axford, born Aug. 6, 1829, died Aug. 28, 1868, married John Brown of Detroit, Mich., and had John, George, Edna (Mrs. Samuel Whisler), Victoria deceased, Lizzie (Mrs. Henry Shaffer), Catherine (Mrs. John Cousins), William and Arnot."

Mercy is a daughter of John "Long John" Axford and his second wife Charity Swayze Johnson. The death certificate posted on this memorial indicates different dates of birth and death than the genealogy cited above. Also instead of being Johnson the mother's surname is recorded as Jones.

Another source for the Axford family is a book entitled:
Avery, Lillian Drake, compl. Volume 1 Old Oakland County Families - Axford Family. General Richardson Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution, Pontiac, MI, 1954.

This source has limited dates and places for the families mentioned plus it also lacks sources so the information contained must be researched to find supporting evidence.
