Elizabeth's three children with John Cogswell, Jr. are as as follows:
- Elizabeth Cogswell (1648-1736) m. Abraham Wellman of Linn, MA - 7 children. Elizabeth became a witness in the Infamous Salem Witch Trials in the trial against Sarah Cole in 1692.
- John Cogswell III (1650-1724) m. Margaret Gifford, dau. of Dr. John Gifford - 9 children. John would sue his uncle William Cogswell in the famous case Cogswell vs. Cogswell over his father's estate.
- Samuel Cogswell (1651-1701) m. Susanna Haven on Oct. 27, 1668. Removed to Saybrook, Connecticut (today called Lyme, Connecticut). This couple had 9 children.
Elizabeth died quite young, predeceasing her husband who also died young, age 31, on his voyage back to America from England. Their three orphaned children were sent to live with different relatives. Daughter Elizabeth was placed with her paternal grandparents, the Cogwells. Son John ended up in the care of their paternal aunt, Hannah (Cogswell) Waldo, a direct ancestress of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
