Obit: Died
Devereaux, February 14th 1884, of consumption, Clara L. Devereaux, age 16 years 7 months and days.
Sister Clara was born in Meeker County, Minnesota, July 2nd 1868, and came to Janesville 9 years ago.. She experienced a hope in Christ two years ago and united with the F. W. Baptist church of this place and lived a constant Christian life. She was a faithful worker in the church and Sabbath school, and although young in her years her influence for good was felt by all those with whom she associated. During her long and painful illness she was a patient sufferer, always appearing cheerful. To her family and relatives her death is a sad bereavement, especially as she is the third member of he family who has died in the last two years. her father was buried about a year ago and a sister two years ago. The church of which she was a member, feel that in her death they have sustained a great loss, and the Sabbath school one of its brightest lights, but it is a source of great comfort to the church and her family to feel that they all shall meet her in the "great beyond."
