Edith Isabell Adkins transitioned to be with the Lord, after a long illness on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Envoy of Westover Hills. Edith was born on December 16, 1942, to the late Forest I. and Bertha M. Adkins, of Charles City, VA
.
During her earlier years, Edith attended Alpine School and Ruthville High School. She also attended services at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. While growing up, Edith enjoyed dancing and continued to enjoy music and listening to the radio and television. She was also quite the fashionista in her own mind and liked clothes and colorful nail polish. She was a beloved sister who will be missed by many.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Otis Adkins and sisters, Bernadine B. Adkins and Elizabeth "Ettamae" Jones. She is survived by her brothers, Jerry Adkins of Hampton, VA, and Parker Adkins (Rita) of Sandston, VA; sister-in-law, Anna Lee Adkins of Hampton, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2PM Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. A viewing will be from 12pm-2pm, just prior to services. Burial to follow at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Charles City, VA.
