She worked as a private family governess in Connecticut for many years. She left behind in Sweden a sister Signe, and brother Bernhard, with whom she stayed in contact throughout her life in America. Her father Gustav Arvid Persson 1859-1897 died the year she was born. Her mother Clara Albertina Persdotter 1862-1964 died in Sweden.
