Joe Arthur Gilmore was born on April 11, 1954 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Joe E. and Arthie (Arning) Gilmore. He was a lifelong resident of Big Cabin and graduated from Big Cabin High School in 1972.

Joe married the love of his life, Linda Rose Hobbs, on August 3, 1974 in Pensacola, Oklahoma. They made their home in Big Cabin where they raised two sons, Andy and Josh. He worked for the cement plant in Pryor for 35 years, retiring from Buzzi Unichem in 2017.

Joe's hobby in life was working; whether he was at his job or at home, he just loved to work. He enjoyed attending auctions and loved creating projects at home, using his ever growing pile of scrap metal. His favorite thing to do all revolved around his family though. Joe loved spending time with Linda, going to the movies and taking Sunday morning drives, exploring out of the way places. He loved time with his grandkids, having fun and being goofy with them.

Joe was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who shared in his life.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; four grandchildren, Ashlee Chuckluck and husband Damin, Sarah Gilmore, Jordan Gilmore and wife Carlie and Daniel Gilmore; two great grandchildren, Isabelle and Clayton Gilmore and two sisters, Betty Gilmore and Shelly Borgstrom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Joseph Andrew "Andy" Gilmore and Joshua Adam "Josh" Gilmore and one brother, Jim Gilmore.
