Eric Wayne Ryan, 45, of Taneytown died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at his home after an extended illness. Born April 30, 1962, in Frederick County, he was the son of Dolores and Frank Morrissey of Taneytown. He was a 1980 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He was a member of the Taneytown Baptist Church. He was employed with the City of Frederick for 27 years prior to his retirement and then worked with organic farming in the Tan-eytown area. He was a member of the Littlestown Fish and Game Association and enjoyed boating, hunting and traveling. Surviving, in addition to his mother and stepfather, are a maternal grandmother, Viola E. Remsburg of Middletown; sister and brother-in-law Penelope and Wes Harlow of Gettysburg, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry W. Ryan III. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Taneytown Baptist Church, 4150 Sells Mill Road, with his pastor, the Rev. Gary Buchman, and the Rev. Tom Darner, pastor of Bark Hill Bible Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Cemetery near Libertytown. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown.
