Raymond Massey

Actor. Born into one of Canada's wealthiest families in 1896, Raymond Massey had a distinguished film and stage career. He is perhaps best remembered for his roles as the hilarious "heavy" in "Arsenic and Old Lace," the dreamer in "Things to Come," and as an imperishable Lincoln in "Abe Lincoln In Illinois," a role that was written with him in mind and for which he was nominated for an Academy Award. He was a great and disturbing John Brown in the underrated "Santa Fe Trail." Later, among his many television roles, he starred as Dr. Gillespie on "Dr. Kildare."
