NB: The book extract on this soldier is incorrect. His military number, pension records and place of birth identify his father as John William Garside, not Daniel.
He is in fact Fred Garside son of John William and Sarah Martha Garside, born 18.12.1897, and baptised 6.2.1898. Single. Prior to enlistment he is employed as a Mill Piecer, and living at Binns, Linthwaite with his parents and siblings. Killed in action 22.10.1918 - Contributor: DC (50456118)
