Dean Allan Pedersen, Sr.
October 29, 1947 - December 12, 2022

Dean Allan Pedersen, Sr., 75 years old of Antioch, IL passed away on December 12, 2022 at home surrounded by his family after an extended illness. He was born October 29, 1947 in Waukegan, IL the son of the late Alfred Paul Pedersen, Sr. and Florence Evelyn (nèe Prince) Pedersen. On November 21, 1970, Dean married Linda Jean Schultz at St. Peter Catholic Church, Antioch. 

Dean was a lifelong resident of Antioch, grew up on the family farm and worked for the family business. He studied Agriculture Business at Joliet Junior College and was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. Dean worked (and later became part-owner) at Pedersen GMC, a business founded by his father in 1949. He loved selling trucks and tractors and was known to his customers as friendly, honest and sincere.

Dean played the drums for the Grease Band (a band formed to raise funds for St. Peter Catholic Church) for over 20 years and he (along with his wife, Linda) was a founding member of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. Dean also served as a trustee for the Antioch Fire District for 24 years (the last several years serving as their President). Dean was an avid family man. He was close with his parents and brothers, married his high school sweetheart, loved his children and adored his grandchildren.

Dean is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Linda; their children, Dean Allan (Michelle) Pedersen, Jr., Jeannine (Jose) Pedersen-Guzmán; their grandchildren, Abigail and Benjamin Pedersen, Ava and Luna Guzmán; his brothers, Alfred Paul (Judy) Pedersen, Jr., Lloyd Pedersen, Dale Pedersen, Brian (Mary) Pedersen; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dean was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Paul Pedersen, Sr., and a sister-in-law, Dawn. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 40000 US-45, Old Mill Creek, IL 60046. Interment will immediately follow in Hickory Union Cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday December 18, 2022 at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in Dean's memory to the First Fire Protection District, 835 Holbek Drive, Antioch, IL 60002.
