Louie L. Gumbert, 84 of Greenup passed away Tuesday morning December 13, 2022 in Kings Daughters Medical Center. Louie was born January 25, 1938 in Greenup to the late Samuel and Lula Fitzwater Gumbert. In addition to his parents Louie was preceded in death by his spouse, Ruth Ann Westfall Gumbert in 2017, his great grandson Dawson Ford Delawder, and 11 brothers and sisters. Louie attended Lloyd Church of the Nazarene and formerly worked for C&O Railroad and Bellefonte Hospital in the Maintenance Department. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed drag racing. Louie loved his family and enjoyed every moment with them. Surviving Louie, are, two sons, Louie Gumbert Jr., of Greenup, Jerry Gumbert of Wurtland, one daughter, Luanne Moore (Don) of Wurtland, one brother, Raymond "Doc" Gumbert of Wurtland, one sister, Eileen Perdue of Auburn, WVa., 12 grandchildren, Amanda Swint, Kristin Martin, Tiffany Oborne, Samuel Gumbert, James Gumbert, J.D. Gumbert, Catlyn Bryant, Leighann Gumbert, Dallas Wooten, McKayla Tackett, Hayden Harmon, Holden Harmon, and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Louie will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, December 16, 2022 at Music Family Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Martin officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday the 16th at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Plum Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Pride Christmas Project c/o City National Bank. Online condolences may by offered at www.mfhfuneralhome.com.
