BRADFORD -- Corence R. "Jug" Hegwood, 76, of 110 Breen Ave. died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 1994, at Colonial Hall Living Center in Princeton.

Born July 13, 1918, in Wyoming, Ill., to Melvin and Blanche Troxell Hegwood, he married Hazel Phillips. She died in 1973. He later married Helen Harris on Aug. 6, 1975, in Bradford. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Ron of Wyoming, Ill., and Glyn of Toulon; two stepsons, Richard Harris of Chillicothe and Roger Harris of El Paso; one brother, Dan of Morrison; one sister, Charlotte Nichol of Conrad, Iowa; three grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. One son, Terry, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

He worked for Wyoming and Toulon grain elevators for 36 years. He also worked for the village of Bradford and Kraft Fertilizer in Princeville.

He was a member of Leet Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradford, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Bill Burton will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Johnson- Dunlap Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, near Wyoming.
