From Carrie Parler-Gibson (Dan's daughter): He moved to New York City around 1929, returning to FL in later life, then to CA in his latter years. He raced motor bikes when he was young, and swam the Hudson River, both ways, being a very strong swimmer and great diver. He held many types of jobs and could sell refrigerators to Eskimos. He was always slim, his weight never varying. He was personable, charming and always alert.
