Douglas Allen Clark, 71, transferred his letter of life from earth to heaven on February 15, 2008 at Bay Medical Center. Doug was born May 21, 1936 in Barre, Vermont. His formative years were spent in Gary, Indiana graduating from Edison High School. He then achieved a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. Following completion of an ROTC commitment with the U.S. Army in Virginia, Doug was employed as a civil servant with the Navy for 38 years working at Yorktown Mine Warfare Center in Virginia and the Mine Defense Laboratory in Panama City Beach. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Grace Thompson Clark, his brother and sister-in-law Rob and Kay Clark, and his first wife of 26 years Barbara Pumroy Clark. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Daphne Wilson DuKate Clark, daughter Shari Jean McClellan of Stafford, VA, step-son Robb Davis, and wife Adrienne, Panama City Beach, FL, step-daughter Alyssa Blaire Davis of Apopka, FL, two grandsons, Thomas Palmaz and Ryan McClellan, two step- grandsons , Shane and Bryce McClellan, and a dear step-grandddaughter Devyn Shea Davis of Panama City Beach. A Celebration of the Life of Doug Clark will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday on the Palm Court Terrace at the Bay Point Marriott Resort. A Witness to the Resurrection Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church with internment following in the Clark family plot at the Williamsburg Memorial Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. Doug served as President of the Williamsburg, Virginia Jaycees. He was an elder in three Presbyterian Churches serving for more than 18 years. He served as Commander of the St. Andrew Squadron of the United States Power Squadrons as well as a certified instructor and administrative and executive officer. He also served as a Director of the Bay Point Yacht Club, President of the Men's Golf Association, and a member of a wonderful camaraderie of golfers in the Rat Pack, President of the Bay Point West Homeowners Association and Trustee for 8 years He was extremely honored to have been inducted into the NCSC Hall of Fame in 1998.
