She was born on April 4, 1924, in Ponce de Leon to T.R. and Lincy Arrant Padgett. Mrs. Dean was a resident of Ponce de Leon. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in the yard and taking care of her flowers. She was a very talented seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for her daughters and attending church.
Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Russell Dean of almost 50 years; one brother, James Padgett; and one sister, Clemmie Henderson.
Mrs. Dean is survived by her two daughters, Ann D. Brazile and husband Charles of Ponce de Leon, and Kathy D. Brazile of Bonifay, Fla.; son-in-law, David Brazile; three brothers-in-law, Alcus A. Dean of Atlanta, George Dean of Ponce de Leon, and Allen Dean and wife Mamie of Fairhope, Ala.; two sisters-in-law, Henrietta Rhodes of Ponce de Leon, and Beulah Burgess, her caregiver, and husband Jerry of Westville, Fla.; Betty Merchant, also her caregiver; one sister, Della Little of Ponce de Leon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry McGowan and Ike Steverson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ponce de Leon Cemetery.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
