Mr. Kent Bailey, 76, of 71 Sugar Hollow Rd., Aragon, died Saturday, March 18, 2006 in a Rome Medical Center. Mr. Bailey was born in Richmond, Virginia, a son of the late Mack and Irene McCook Bailey. He had been a resident of Polk County since the early seventies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving in World War II, a member of Piedmont Ave. Baptist Church and was a retired carpenter. Surviving are wife, Mrs. Betty Akins Bailey of Aragon to whom he was married on October 1, 1981; children, Linda Rockwell, Erin Stevens, Julie McAlister, Beth Prater, Vickie Maulding, Bonnie Eddy, Robin King, Lisa Arp, and Cullen Bailey; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graveside funeral and interment services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2006 in Rockmart Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Hooper officiating. Active pallbearers included Lee Maulding, Toby Maulding, Chad King, Jeremy King, John Hooper and Aaron Hooper. Honorary pallbearers were Briton Cooper and Hayden Arp. The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements
