World War Veteran dies at Franklin

Harry Leslie Mattison, 42 years old, a veteran of the World war, passed away Saturday morning about 12:30 o'clock, after a few days' illness. Death was caused by influenza.

The deceased suffered a knee injury in a threshing machine accident in 1930 and had been in ill health since that time.

He was born in Johnsburg. Warren county, June 28, 1889. the son of Frank and Adelia (Barker) Mattison. He was united in marriage with Miss Mabel Sanford of North Franklin on March 26, 1919. Mr. Mattison followed the occupation of farming and resided in that village, for the past 15 years. He served In France during the World war. He was a member of the American Legion and the Baptist church at Wells, Hamilton county. At the last fall election, Mr. Mattison was elected town collector of taxes.

He is survived by his wife and father. Rev. Frank Mattison, Gloversvllle; seven children, Cecil, Orley, Evelyn. Choral, Lois, Elvin and Charles, all living at home; two sisters, Mrs. Allen Craig. Gloversville; Mrs. Irving Decker, Edmeston; one brother. Raymond Mattison. Gloversville.

To them will be extended the pathy of many friends in that communlty. Funeral services were held the family home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Meredith Dallman, pastor of the Congregational church, officiated. Burial was in the Ouleout Valley cemetery.
