Everett Baker, 82, of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. He was born Jan. 28, 1924. Mr. Baker was a lifelong Preble County farmer who dearly loved animals. He was a member of Sugar Valley United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Baker; and grandson, Brian Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Phyllis (Sheffer) Baker; sons and daughter-in-law, Everett E. and Peggy Baker, and Steven Baker; daughters and son-in-law, Arlene and George Mason, and Janice A. Stewart; granddaughter, Jennifer (Tim) Drake; grandsons, David Baker, Seth (McKenzie) Mason and Steven Stewart; granddaughters, Leah (Adam) Dutson, Ann N. Stewart, and Shanna (Dean) Lutton; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, May 12, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. George Copus officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Sugar Valley United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 3022 Camden-Sugar Valley Road, Eaton, OH 45320.
