"A.D. Parker was born in Swisher County 1900 to Aaron Sumners Parker 1853-1918 and Sarah Ann Sallie Taylor 1859-1932. He was their last child.

He married Effie Mae Sorrenson at her family home in the Houston Community South of Tulia. A.D. and Effie Mae operated a dairy and farmed wheat and grains near Kaffir Switch on the Santa Fe line north of Tulia.

They were faithful members of Tulia's First Presbyterian Church and his parents were charter members. A. D. was both an ordained Deacon and Elder, and later, Effie Mae was ordained Elder.

Their two children were Harry William Parker (1932) and Lois Bernice Parker (1934).

Aaron David (A.D.) suffered a heart attack and died in Amarillo in 1956, Effie Mae lived the remainder of her life in the home they built together - tending her flower gardens and doing church work and volunteering for community groups. They are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery."
