A young Hattie married William Grimshaw about 1880 and had two children from that marriage, Willie and Lillian. She was widowed in 1887 and married Phineas Taylor in 1888. Together they raised Lillian and served as caretakers of the Old Notch House on the road to Wilmington. She and Phineas were members of the Newman Community and lived on South Main St. , Lake Placid.
