Elouise D. Davis
(January 31, 1921 - February 16, 2008)

Elouise Davis, 87, of Bay, died Saturday morning at Craighead County Nursing Center.
Born in Paragould, Mrs. Davis lived much of her life in Bay. She was retired from Nettleton High School where she taught high school Biology. She taught a total of 37 years. She earned Bachelor and Master degrees from Arkansas State University and was a member of Nettleton United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association and was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Davis; by her parents: Elvis and Gertrude Willey Benner; and 2 brothers, Hulbert and Huelett Benner.

Survivors include: 3 Sons and Daughters-in-law: Jimmy Davis of Montana, and Donnie and Sandy Davis, and Ronnie and Carol Davis, all of Bay;
2 Sisters: Jane Williams of Houston, Texas, and Elsie Brown of Vicksburg, Mississippi; 5 Grand-children: Jamie Davis, James Davis, Clint Davis, Chase Davis and Brooke Thomas; and 1 Great Grandson: Gavin Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Blackwood officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Clint Davis, Chase Davis, Jeremy Thomas, Kenny Vestal, Donnie Scott and Chad Colbert.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, 4-6, at Emerson Funeral Home.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to Paragould's Children Home, 505 Old Walcott Rd., Paragould, AR 72450, or to the American Alzheimer's Association.
