Evaline (Eva) Gooden Cox was born October 4, 1880 in Tennessee and died January 18, 1971 in Rhea County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Scott Gooden and Elizabeth Lucinda Hawkins.
She married John Tillman Cox on April 28, 1898 in Dayton, Rhea County. They lived in Rhea County for a while and by 1910 had moved to Hamilton County where the family lived for many years. They had five children [three boys and two girls], all of whom are now deceased: (1) Roy Earl Cox; (2) Charles Creed Cox; (3) Nellie May Cox; (4) Blanch Cox; and (5) Walter Bruce Cox.
