Maurine worked hard on the family farm, helping her father with many of the chores and responsibilities. She attended the elementary school in Afton and graduated from Star Valley High School in 1930. She loved to dance and enjoyed many activities with her family and friends in the area.
She married John Delos Anderson on April 2, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. To this union, three children were born, Deloyd, Joyce and Rowan. As a family, they worked hard milking cows and raising beef cattle to make the ranch successful. The concept of working hard and playing later was taught in the home they had a great life together.
Maurine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. she served in many different church callings. One of her greatest loves was music. She enjoyed being a chorister and playing the piano and organ. She has accompanied her family and friends as well as many other performers.
She and her husband served in the Florida Mission in 1968 for nine months, where they were instrumental in teaching the gospel to the people of that area.
Maurine was very proud of her pioneer heritage and was a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers.
She was an excellent cook and enjoyed reading and experimenting with new recipes. Family friends and others were the recipients of this talent.
Maurine passed away on January 10, 2008. She is survived by her children, John Deloyd Anderson (Marilyn); Joyce Gaye Anderson and Rowan Michael Anderson (Helen); nine grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. she is also survived by one brother, Willis Michaelson, and three sisters, Helen Stevens, LaNea Schofield and Eva Bateman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, Millard Michaelson, and one sister, Bernice Wolfley.
