Gene H. Burton, Sr., age 91, of Jefferson, passed away on December 6, 2022 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Anna Mae (Grubel) Burton; together they shared 66 years of marriage.

Gene was born in Glen Arm, MD on April 1, 1931 and was the son of the late Benjamin Burton Sr. and Annie (Menninger) Burton. His life was dedicated to vegetable farming and raising cattle on his 200 acre farm in Codorus Township York County, PA. He was also involved in the Breeder Poultry Operation located on the farm.

In addition to his loving wife Anna Mae, Gene is survived by his son Gene Burton, Jr. and his wife Carolene; his grandchildren Michele Schuckman and husband Ryan; Matthew Burton; and his great-grandchildren Carley and Brynn Schuckman. He is also survived by his brother Stanley Burton. Gene was preceded in death by his son Wayne Burton who passed away in 1974; and five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately by the family under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove.
