After an illness of over two years’ duration, Mrs. Jacob Iceman, residing near Bucher’s meeting house, South Lebanon township, on Saturday morning breathed her last, surrounded by her family and near relatives. The deceased was surely afflicted with dropsy for more than two years, but bore her afflictions with true Christian fortitude her faith in “Him who doeth all things well,” strengthening her unto the last. During life, Mrs. Iceman was a devoted member of the M. E. church, being a descendant of one of the early pioneers of the church at Cornwall, and always manifesting a deep interest in Christian work. She was a sister of Cyrus, S. S., and Ed. Ramsay, and also of Mrs. V. H. Allwein, Mrs. Harry Bergner [sic] and Mrs. Richard Bruce, and died in the faith of a blessed immortality. While living, she led an exemplary and Christian life, and was loved and respected by all who knew her virtues and kindness of heart. She leaves behind her an afflicted husband and a family of seven children. Her sufferings were borne with a patience coming from a perfect Christian faith, and she fell asleep with the words, “I cast myself at the foot of the cross”.
