Melba Lawson, 70, of Batson, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at her residence.
Mrs. Lawson was born February 3, 1935 to parents Ernest Daniel and Edith Barnes
Daniel. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Liberty County area and
member of the Central Baptist Church in Daisetta where she was a Sunday School
Teacher and involved with all church activities. She also enjoyed sewing,
painting and quilting.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Central
Baptist Church in Daisetta and burial will follow at the Guedry Cemetery in
Batson under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. She is survived
by: Daughters: Staci Keene and Cindy Wiggins and her husband Mike all of Batson;
Granddaughter: Serena Keene of Batson; Great-Grandson: Alex Monceaux of Batson
and Sisters: Katherine Joy and Billie Hughes both of Batson, Corine Lawson of
Beaumont and Ernestine Barr of Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Joe Lawson, Parents
and a Sister: Lorine Kiber. Many nieces and nephews. Vickie Lawson Ward, Paula Jean Lawson Crowley.
