Odoricio Vicente Yorba y Dominguez was born at Rancho Santa Ana***, Alta California, Mexico, and was baptized at Mission San Gabriel February 3, 1843, when he was just a few days old (SG Baptism 08570, ECPP). He was the son of Bernardo Antonio Yorba y Grijalva and Felipa Dominguez y Sotelo. He married Erolinda Cota at the Los Angeles Plaza Church October 25, 1876. He was buried at the Yorba Cemetery March 30, 1903.

Rancho Santa Ana was a 21,522-acre (87.10 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Ventura County, California given in 1837 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Crisogono Ayala and Cosme Vanegas.[1] Rancho Santa Ana was located inland in the Ventura River Valley on the west side of the Ventura River across from Rancho Ojai which was granted in the same year. Rancho Santa Ana encompassed present day Lake Casitas and Oak View.
