She was born Jan. 8, 1914, in Ellsworth County, Kan. Myra graduated from Holyrood High School in Holyrood, Kan., in 1931. She loved sports and during the 1930's played basketball, even competing against the great Babe Didrikson, in Houston. Myra was known for her wry sense of humor, her superb homemaking skills, and her love of travel. She was also a master bridge player.
As a military wife she lived and traveled throughout the United States and Europe. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and was a resident of Escondido since 1994.
Myra is survived by her three children, sons, Al (Judy) Borecky of Escondido and Dr. Michael (Susie) Borecky of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughter, Jana Logan of Eugene, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Dr. David (Tami) Borecky, Mark (Julie) Borecky of Escondido, Alan (Donna) Borecky of San Jose, Steven Logan of Emeryville, Doug (Kathy) Logan of Alameda, Robert Logan of Oakland, and Sarah Logan of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren, Adam, Mick and Tom Borecky of Econdido, Sammy and Lily Borecky of San Jose and Alexandra Logan of Alameda.
Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Antone "Tony" Borecky, just three weeks prior to her death. Had they lived until Sept. 18, they would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. They will be buried together in a private military service at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma.
