Frances Irene Bell Turner, daughter of John and Nita Moore Penick, was born October 24, 1904, in Patterson, Iowa. She departed this life Sunday, April 11, 2004, in Christian Healthcare South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-nine years, five months, and eighteen days.

On April 24, 1924, she was united in marriage to Robert John Bell, and to this union four sons were born. Mr. Bell preceded her in death in May of 1936.
Later, in 1941, she married Elery Turner and to this union one son was born.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert and Harold Bell; a daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; five brothers, John, Paul, Miland, Tom and Robert; and a sister, Louise.

Frances is survived by three sons, Doyle Bell, and his wife, Thadine, of Lebanon, Missouri, Donald Bell, and his wife, Judith Anne, of Osceola, Missouri, and Howard Turner, and his wife, Mary, of Overland Park, Kansas; a daughter-in-law, Georgia Bell, of Lebanon, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

She was born and raised in Patterson, Iowa, and during her high school years she played basketball. After she and Robert were married, they made their home in Iowa, and started their family. Throughout the years, Frances was a devoted homemaker and lovingly raised her sons. She later made her home in Trenton, Missouri for several years before moving to Lebanon, Missouri in 1975.

In 1918, Frances was baptized into the Methodist Church and had attended the Lebanon Family Church.

In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and working in her garden where she liked growing tomatoes. She also enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, taking care of her home and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. Her family will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them in their hearts.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 13, 2004, in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum. Burial will be in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at their convience to the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
