Florence Jane (Crenwelge) Rogers, 72, of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022.
She was born on October 8, 1950 in Fredericksburg, Texas, the daughter of Gilbert W. Crenwelge and Flora (Lehne) Crenwelge. She married Thomas W. Rogers in Madisonville, Texas on January 27, 1973.
Florence dedicated her life to the care of others. Upon graduating from Texas Women's University she started her career in occupational therapy. She cared for patients over a fifty year dedicated career working in hospitals, nursing homes and private care.
She held leadership positions in the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the organization for over 40 years, most recently in Johnson City Chapter #376.
She held nothing back when it came to loving and serving her family. She cared for her husband in good times throughout their 46 year marriage and challenging times when his health declined later in life. She provided endless love and support for her son and step-children. She showered love upon all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Sidney (Rogers) Crenwelge of Eugene, Oregon, step-daughter Tauny Lynne (Rogers) Harlien and husband Matt of Sandia, Texas; and step-son Tim Rogers of Houston, Texas. Survivors also include her sister Arleen Crenwelge and brothers Gerald Crenwelge, Dennis Crenwelge, Wilfred Crenwelge, Rodney Crenwelge and Keith Crenwelge; her grandchildren Lucy Crenwelge, Alice Crenwelge, Charlie Crenwelge, Jennifer Layton, Jessica Atkinson, Madison Harlien, Lexi Rogers; and two great-grandchildren Brylee Layton and Jessie Layton.
She was preceded in death by her husband 46 years, Thomas W. Rogers of Fredericksburg and her parents Gilbert and Flora Crenwelge.
A funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 426 W. Main Street, Fredericksburg, Texas at 10:00 am Thursday, December 15, 2022 with Rev. Kay Johnson presiding. Visitation will be at Fredericksburg Funeral Home, 2278 South Highway 87, Fredericksburg, Texas from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
