Tamsen McMillan Duke was born April 24th, 1957 in Amarillo, Texas to Thomas Wayne Duke and Maxine Ratcliff Duke. She grew up in Amarillo, where she was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1975 and from Texas Tech University in 1979 with a BBA in Finance. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

After graduation, she moved to El Paso Texas, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Robert Booton, Jr. They moved to the San Francisco area in 1985 and were married in St. Helena California in 1989.

Upon her move to California, Tamsen started her career in the tech industry at Smith, Dennis and Gaylord, Inc., concentrating on implementation and client services. When Tamsen was not working, she loved traveling with her husband Bobby and their friends. They would sometimes combine their love of music with travel, venturing to Barcelona and Mexico City to see the Rolling Stones.

Tamsen and Bob loved their West Highland Terriers, Sodapop, Bongo, Soda Monica, and Scotch. Tamsen was her happiest at the barn caring for and riding her horses; first Jubilee and then Spot.

Tamsen was a wonderful aunt to her nieces, Sarah and Grace Evans. She loved hosting them on visits to California and taking trips with them to Hawaii and Colorado. Her influence on them will always be treasured.
