He was born in Francis to the late Wade Hampton Barber and Stella Stacey .. Verell retired from Georgia-Pacific after 32 years of service in the tissue conversion department. He loved his family, was very proud of both of his sons and enjoyed fishing with them. He had wished for two years of retirement but the Lord gave him four years.
Survivors are his wife of 19 years, Nadine Barber; sons, Rannie R. Barber and wife, Brenda, Brad R. Barber and girlfriend, Tracy Radtke, all of Palatka; stepdaughter, Renee Taylor and husband, Joe, of McRae, Ark.; brother, Ronnie Barber and wife, Janet, of Palatka; sisters, Irene Moore and husband, Winston, Lorraine Bartlett, Trenda Bryan and husband, Dale, Peggy Burns and husband, Dale, and Reba Hess, all of Palatka; Glenda Cummings and husband, George of Green Cove Springs, Brenda Bowers and husband, Paul of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Rennie and Wade Barber and step-granddaughters, Jessica and Sarah Taylor of McRae, Ark.
