Vernon Atkins Geddie, 82, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at his home while surrounded by his loved ones.

A son of Thomas Jefferson Geddie and Vera Irene Price Geddie, of blessed memory, he was born on August 24, 1940, in Tallahassee. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in by his son, Kevin Albert Geddie; and siblings, George J. Geddie, Ola Clark, Irene Fish, Thomas J. Geddie, Laura E. Richards and Jewell B. Geddie.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Joyce Miller Geddie; sons, Jeff Geddie, Keith Geddie and Matthew Geddie, Sr.; grandchildren, Matthew Geddie, Jr., Paden Geddie, Ashley Geddie, Maisy Ivory, Savannah Sullivan and Amanda Geddie; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Calvin, Silas, Eleanor, Amari and Sunny; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A talented cabinet maker by trade, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and listening to country music.

Visitation is from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Friday, December 9, 2022, at Abbey Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Geddie Cemetery.
