Born in Richlands, VA he was the son of the late Herman Fullen Shelton & Lena Belle Houchins Shelton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Connie Carol Shelton and one sister Darnell Jackson.
Eddie was a retired coal miner and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was of the Holiness faith.
He is survived by one daughter Sandra Griffith & husband Roy of Richlands, VA; Two sisters Shirley A. Shelton of Richlands, VA and Emma Lee Madison of Baltimore, MD; Two granddaughters Brittany Hodock & Allyson Hodock both of Richlands, VA; Two step grandchildren Brandon Griffith & Desirae Griffith both of Abingdon, VA; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Neighbors also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Shelton will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday April 26, 2010 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Sister Margie Minton Poteat & Pastor Tim Lester officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Lee Sheppard, Jr., Scott Joyce, Ricky Griffith, Tim Lester, Carlos Keen and Ernie Amie.
Casey-Short V.F.W. Post 9640 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA from 6-9 P.M. Sunday.
