Reuben James Barrett
August 8, 1944 - November 27, 2022
Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mr. Reuben James "Jim" Barrett, Jr. 78, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with visitation to follow at the funeral home.
Mr. Barrett was born in Anderson, SC to the late Reuben James Barrett and Catherine Fannin Barrett. He was a graduate of Baptist College in Charleston, SC. He served in the Air National Guard of South Carolina and the Reserve of the United States Air Force from September 18, 1974-September 17, 1975. Mr. Barrett retired as Plant Manager of Springs Industries after 28 years of service. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his membership at the Rock Hill Country Club. He liked duck hunting, riding jet skis, traveling and spending time with family and friends. On his last day, he said "Shug, I believe my reputation proceeds me, with honor and no regrets."
Mr. Barrett is survived by his wife Lois Marie Patton Barrett; his daughters, Robin Barrett O'Bryant (Rob) and Beth Barrett Dantzscher (David); brothers, Kenneth Darrell Barrett (Elaine) and Michael Hugh Barrett (Glenda); his sister-in-law, Beryl Barrett; grandchildren, Logan O'Bryant, Zachary O'Bryant, Hannah Jane Jones, and Kate Dantzscher; his step-daughters, Diana B. Turner and Pamela B. Slagle; step-grandsons, John Eric Skaryak II (Suzanne) and Aron Seth Turner; step-granddaughter, Christina M. Barnett Estes; five step-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Triston, Sarah, Dalton, and Laney. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin E. Barrett and sister, Teresa K. Barrett.
