MACKEY MCNATT was born between 1750-1755 in South Carolina. He died in 1810 in Dover, Stewart, Tennessee, USA. He married Dinah (last name not definitively known) before 1774. She was born between 1731- 1740. She died about 1830 in Lawrence County, Alabama.

He is believed to be the son of Robert McKnott/McNatt and had three known siblings:

1. Joel McNatt (ca. 1750 - after 1800)
2. James McNatt (before 1755 - after 1805)
3. John McNatt (1 Jan 1763 - 1848)

Notes for Mackey McNatt:

Mackey and Dinah McNatt were baptized into the Welsh Neck Baptist Church in what is now Society Hill, South Carolina on 1 October 1774. Mackey and Dinah are mentioned several times in the Church's meeting minutes from 1774 through the mid-1790s.

Mackey McNatt saw military service in the Revolutionary war as a Private in General Francis Marion's brigade (source: documentation dated November 1782.

He is listed in the 1780 census of the Cheraws District; the 1790 census of St Thomas Parish, Cheraws District, and the 1880 Federal census of Marlboro County, South Carolina.

The note attached to this findagrave memorial was in the possession of Ezekiel H McNatt and provided to his brother Benjamin F. McNatt (both are great grandsons of Mackey McNatt) It is correspondence from a "cousin" of Ezekiel and Benjamin's. Possibly from somebody in the line of Cordy N. McNatt.

"You will see that Robt McNatt is the beginning, who came from Scotland. Then John C. and Benjamin McNatt were brothers. I do not know any of our cousins in Texas. Enoch Jessie McNatt was our grandfather, who had five sons. Thos., William, Harvey, Cordy, and Dudley W. Four girls, one married Rev. Patterson - one Joe Bounds - one Cook and the other Wm Sherrill."

In letter dated 7 July 1975 to Elaine Watson, Ira Neil McNatt indicated the following:

"He ('Grandpa' Cordy N. McNatt) had a large family bible with pages of family records, births, marriages, deaths, etc. but I do not know what became of it." Also included in the letter was the following: "The McNatt Clan - Two McNatt brothers came from Scotland in early colonial times and raised large families; all the McNatts are descendants of these two according to family history related by Cordy Norflet McNatt."

ii. SOLOMON MCNATT was born between 1774-1790 in Marlboro District, South Carolina. He died about 1838 in Stewart, Tennessee, USA. He married Amelia Cox, daughter of Emanuel Cox and Mercy Brown, in 1806 in Marboro County, South Carolina. She was born on 18 Nov 1779 in South Carolina, USA. She died after 1820 in Stewart County, TN.

iii. JANE MCNATT was born in 1780 in Marlboro District, South Carolina. She died after 1850 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, USA. She married JOHN CARRAWAY HUBBARD. He was born in 1780. He died in Feb 1850 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, USA.
