Mr. Bettag was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Danville, Ill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WW II. He was a member of St. James Methodist Church and was a retired business administrator.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Bettag of Texarkana; a stepson, Jon Thompson of Taipei, Taiwan; two stepdaughters, Judith Saeger of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Cris Prince of Oconto, Wis.; a sister, Gertrude Brown of Homer, Ill.; three nieces, Megan Herman of Chicago, Pat Brown of New Jersey and Melodie Burke of Sarasota, Fla. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Bettag.
Graveside services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with John Hall officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home. The register book is online at www.Texarkanafuneralhome.com.
