Eric was born in 1921, the son of of John Ogilvy Hood Easton and Victoria C. Easton nee Jamieson.

Casualty of War: Sergeant, Pilot Eric John Easton, R.AF.V.R. who died on 30th April 1941 when the Hurricane I Fighter that he was flying, from 52 Operational Training Unit, Bishop's Stortford, fell from altitude and nose dived into the ground at speed. There was insufficient evidence for an investigation but it was noted that he had been on an oxygen test that had probably failed causing him to blackout. (Source:- Flight Archives 26th June 1942 ).

His remains were recovered and buried at Charlton Cemetery. His grandmother, Margaret Easton (Memorial 257972996) is buried in the same grave as is his sister, Section Officer Joan M. Easton, WAAF, who also died in service.
