BORGER - Roy Calvin Blancett, 88, died Monday, Feb. 2, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Calvin Newton, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Blancett was born in Marshall County, Ala., and had lived in Borger for 60 years. He was a veteran of the Cavalry, serving from 1930 to 1936. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. He was a retired manager of Miller Washateria.

He married Jimmie Lois Short in 1936 at Lubbock.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Fay Blancett, in 1968.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Eddie of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Annie Garrison of Atlanta and Jewel Freeman of Arab, Ala.; a brother, H.C. Blancett of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild
