A time of visitation to honor the memory of Mrs. Iris Durr Creed will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, on Monday, December 5, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Dry Prong. Following visitation, Graveside Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Dry Prong Cemetery, with Reverend Lloyd Whitman officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mrs. Creed, 83, of Dry Prong, entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 3, 2022, in Jonesboro, LA.
Iris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She taught school for thirty-three years. She spent the last twenty-eight years of her career in the Grant Parish School System. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Virginia Creed and Susan Creed Charrier; one granddaughter, Lindsay Dousay; her parents, Lossie Williamson Durr Creed and Arthur Durr; one brother, Robert Durr; father-in-law, Shelton Creed; and mother-in-law, Helen Harlan Creed Rhodes.
November 25th marked the 64th wedding celebration of Iris and Dwain. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband, Thomas Dwain Creed; one daughter, Sharon Creed Dousay, (Larry); her brother, Colonel David Durr, (Jacqueline); one granddaughter, Lauren Dousay Melancon, (Ben); three grandsons, Linden Dousay, Tyson Charrier, and Shelton Charrier; six great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ginger Creed Deville, (Mickey); and a host of other family members and friends.
