OBITUARY for James Lewis Tate
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022 at 12:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home - Scott, for James Lewis Tate, 68, who passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at The Calcutta House at Hospice of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Interment will be held in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Deacon Cody Miller will officiate at the services.
James Lewis Tate was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana to his parents Bide Tate and Edwina Kruley. James grew up in North Louisiana, but later settled with his family in Scott, Louisiana.
James is honored by and deeply missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Vicki Sonnier Tate; his daughter, Chelle Laceky and her husband Bill and their children, Kurstin Laceky, Emily Laceky, and Lana Laceky; his son, Kacy Kolb and his wife Lisa and their child Abigail Kolb; his son, Jeremy Kolb and his daughter, Alexis Kight and her husband Brent.
James was a brother to Bernice, Mike, Kevin and Gail. James was preceded in death by his father, Bide Tate and James's two brothers, Bernice Tate and Mike Tate, and his one sister, Gail Tanner.
James was adored and missed by many more extended family members as well as his work family of 47 years at Baker Hughes.
Pallbearers will be his closest friends.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services at Martin & Castille's SCOTT location.
James's family would like to give special thanks to Lisa Kolb for her attentive and loving care she gave to James in his final days of life.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Tate's name to The Calcutta House c/o Hospice of Acadiana 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503.
