We found him at the cemetery when visiting my parents' graves in the country. He was hiding in a tree to escape predators. We coaxed him down and took him home. He was wearing a collar with a bell so we knew he'd been someone's pet.
My grandson named him Jingles.
We posted pictures and information everywhere to try to find his home, including all neighboring towns and social media.

Nobody ever came forward. Such a sweet cat! Where were his people?
We kept him warm, safe, fed and loved.
I took him to the vet and had all his shots and neutered. After 6 weeks of constantly trying to find his people, we considered him ours.
Well into his third month with us, he died during the night while cuddled on my granddaughter's warm bed.
No reason, no understanding why.
He was gone from us as quickly as he came.
We loved this special little guy.
